More Resort '10....

Chuck Taylors bring a certain image to mind: sweet, classic and versatile.
It's no wonder that Vena Cava paired some of their Resort '10 looks with simple white Chucks.
The collection is just as fresh and comfortable as the sneaks, but unique nonetheless.
I'm loving all of the prints, it's nice that they are sticking around instead of the usual "prints for spring/summer, muted tones and tweed for fall/winter"
And the model's short hair gives me even more inspiration for my *gasp* drastic haircut sometime this month...

Impeccable!

Luella = Summer perfection!
That is all.

Weeds.

Urban Weeds, a new Portland street style blog has really cute, simple, lovely real style!
Perhaps I'll be captured when I go there this summer!

I miss Jane.

I wish Jane Magazine didn't die.
I still look at old issues for inspiration...especially in the summertime.

Neckwear for the masses.

Ka Pow Wow has the most amazing pieces!
I can't image how much one of these necklaces would spice up some of the more plain items in my closet...

Striped.

I forgot how much I love black and white stripes.
And black with deep brown leather.

I'm sorry...

I got many positive comments on the last post, thanks everyone!
I love hearing opinions, and a recent anonymous comment got me thinking...

The reader was offended by me saying "I'd rather be drop dead gorgeous than on the verge of dropping dead". As a slender girl, she (i assume she) said "You dont think it hurts skinny people when you say things like that." The whole comment (it was about a paragraph) made me think she definitely had a point. I didn't mean to offend anyone who was skinny or who has been made fun of or bothered because of their naturally slender figure, but I can see how that might have been the case. I love all sizes, not just big girls, not just skinny girls or average girls. My friends are all different sizes, and all pretty flippin' gorgeous at that! At the risk of sounding preachy (sorry!), the most important things is to love yourself, and feel good in whatever you choose to wear. I hope that I haven't offended anyone else, and if I have, I'm sorry.

The Same.

The Brushstrokes dress was recently featured on Garance Dore's blog...

Get it here!

R.I.P.

Always an entertainer...

Think what you may...

I'd like to see more of the fashion world accept this:

alongside this:

Perhaps then an anonymous reader wouldn't think it was socially acceptable to repeatedly tell me how "fat" I am, and how to dress to "that suit [my] fat body type". (Not that it is socially acceptable, or that I agree with their humorous and narrow-minded opinions.)

Cutouts.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about all the clashing colors but
one thing I know for sure about this outfit: I can't wait to D.I.Y. that skirt!
The cutouts blow my mind, imagine the possiblities...

YES!

Marc by Marc Jacobs always seems like items from my closet,
tweaked and made both whimsical and far more unique!
His Resort '10 collection is no exception...
Brogues+ feminine cuts + punchy colors and prints= My dream closet.
I really need to sneak more color back into my wardrobe.
Really great shoes with all the oufits too (I don't know who they are by!)
Here's my favourite picks from this collection!

The usual...

Well, despite my being MIA for quite sometime, I've actually been home...just insanely busy (like always). I've got a ton of outfits to show you guys, but no time to take pictures! And now my boyfriend and I are going on a mini vacation, so I won't post until Monday (at least).
Have a great weekend, see you when I get back!

P.S. The above is a little sneak peak of what's soon coming to whistle.
I still have tons of great items in the shop, check it out!

Pin-Ups.

This gal puts today's skinnier starlets to shame. I'd rather be drop dead gorgeous than on the verge of dropping dead please!
I'm sorry, I forget her name...

*EDIT: Her name is Claudia Cardinale.

I need lace.

Phillip Lim's Resort '10 collection (do you see a pattern forming....must be that time!) features some of the most beautiful lace tops, a look I was apprehensive to at first.
I wasn't too sure that lace could be taken out of the awful mom/90's connotations I always associated with it, but with a little coaxing, I see the error in my thinking.
This collection is ethereal in the most down to earth way I've seen in a while, and other than some hideous jodphur/mom jeans that are inexplicable, it's great as a whole.

My favourite: The "rock on" tee with the tan bomber and white mini. Flawless.
