Shirt/Skirt.

Yeah, I finally did the swedish thing...
Loving the whole oversized shirt as skirt/dress/whatever.
I think I'll pair this with tights and knee socks come fall.
And more layers.

I wore this when I randomly went to the gas station last night so my little brother and sister could get free slushies from their friend.
It ended up that my dad's car died, we tried to start it for about an hour and we had to get driven home by the friend.

Psycedelic.

So 70s yesterday, and yet...I didn't mind!
My boyfriend finally saw my hair, he thinks I look hot.
This is also the first time I've worn non-straights/skinnys in at least 2 years.

like a cat in the sun....

I've pretty much been lounging around the past couple of days.
The red cardi outfit is from tues, when I went to a gathering at the BF's sister's house...
The blue plaid is wednesday, just sitting around,
surfing chictopia and not much else.
Oh, and I went to work both days.

The shorts and boots are from my thrifting on Monday.
It actually went pretty well, I got some gold fabric, a black and gingham dress, the boots, the shorts (which were actually men's jeans that I cut),and a striped cardigan.

I felt a little like an Olsen today...All I needed was obscenely large sunglasses.

Homecoming.

After three days of camping on the beach, I'm back home.
I felt like staying there, the lake was sooo beautiful.
This dress is something I found at Salvation Army in Portland.
I had kind of forgot about it, lying in my "to do" sewing pile, but is a gorgeous day, so why not have a gorgeous dress?
I'm going thrifting, wish me luck!

Falling behind on outfit posts!?!?!
I had my first Sbux interview that day, this is NOT what I wore though.

Went shopping, got some really cute white flats, and other things...like an issue of Celeste magazine.

This tank only cost me 50 cents!!!! I was so excited.
Its obscene brightness is so much fun =D

Went up to the campsite that we're going to next weekend! It's gorgeous and I'm really excited, even though it involves an hour drive on a dirt road.

The lack of creativity is really just mind boggling.

On the same vein as Clotheshorse...kind of.

So being the fashion foward(ish) person that I am, of course I love the hipster chic of Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel(more on THEM later).

I think I own this in cream. Except I bought it for $5 at Value Village.

Lately I've been finding my self simultaniously inspired and pissed off by UO's website, especially the Urban Renewal section.

Now, call me crazy, but I think it's complete crap that this flannel shirt, an item which lurks in thrift stores EVERYWHERE (at least in North America) is FORTY EIGHT DOLLARS. I've bought mine for oh, 4, maybe 5 dollars AT MOST.

This just made me laugh.

Really, at $58, it's ACTUALLY A JOKE.
Anyone heard of Salvation Army, a white denim jacket, leftover from the 90s, and RIT dye?!?!?!

Retails AT $48, USD.
need I say more?

Now, American Apparel does this too, but in different ways. Although I am all for ethical workforces but the prices on some items are SO insane, considering a comparable item could be found for FAR less. The neon denim skirts, oversized tees and acid wash jeans are probably hidden somewhere in your local thrift store, all you have to do is look more than once! My favourite article of clothing, my black high waisted skirt, was a $2 thrift. I was surprised when I went to AA a couple months later and saw their version of my skirt, retailing at $36!

I'm sorry, I never do super long posts, but this has really been bothering me. Just so you know, I love both UO and AA, it's just frustrating sometimes to see bloggers and stylish people who don't realize there is SO MUCH more than just a couple of (if you think about it) mass produced hipster threads.
