She Loves You, YeYe!

Izzy is one of my favorite bloggers, and dare I say, the blogger who inspired me to start outfit posting in the first place. I recall discovering her vibrant and whimsical outfits back in 2007 (or maybe 2006?) when cruising a Flickr group called Wardrobe Remix. At the time, I had no idea she was Canadian like me; I was just smitten with her bright tights and vintage finds. My love for this lady's style is still growing...

I'm excited to share Izzy's lookbook for her shop, the YeYe Vintage's Summer 2013 collection, which is brimming with 1960's inspired babes! Featuring handmade earrings from reclaimed vintage materials and psychedelic prints, the mod vibe of this shoot makes me long for the days of Peggy Moffitt, Penelope Tree and Twiggy. Viva la mod girls!

Tell Me Life Is Beautiful.

Karla Spetic's collections are a doozy since every season she seems to outdo herself. I nearly cried when I saw the collaboration between Karla and Caitlin Shearer for AW 2010...

AW2012/13 is dreamy in every sense of the word: sorbet toned and ditzy, Liberty-esque florals abound. Paired with mismatched lapels and creamy sheers, I can't resist this collection! Count me in (even if only in my dreams...)

And With What Whit!

Whit, the NYC based womenswear brand, caught my eye a couple of months ago.
Of course, I somehow lost track of the brand (somewhere in my millions of bookmarks!)
...and was quickly reminded of my love when I saw a post about them on Rebecca's blog last week!
Wearable, but still flirty and whimsical, I would love to own the entire fall collection! And don't even get me started about the headgear in the lookbook...
I have plans to D.I.Y. an arrow headband.

My Oh My.

Wow, wow, wow!
Orla Kiely may very well be my new obssession. I've been consistently inspired by all of thier peices I have come across on the internet, and yet I haven't posted about them until today. The brand encapsulates that early 60's, late 50's, prim and proper whimsy that I hold so dear. Girly and sweet, but never crossing the line into twee, how could you not fall in love? The Spring/Summer 2011 really really does it for me! It probably helps that Leith Clark (she of Lula editorial fame) does the styling for the brand. I adore her personal style, and I really love the styling in the presentation of the collection! I had to restrain myself from posting the entire thing! Lucious red lips, delightful wedges, messy updos paired with some of the most amazing dresses and skirts I've seen...this one plays out like dream. Especially because there are so many peter pan collars!

Gone and Done It.

Samantha Pleet continues one of my favourite designers, season after season. With a knack for comfortable and aesthetically pleasing frocks, her pieces are constantly on my fantasy must have list. Spring/Summer 2011 is no different. Featuring a lovely shade of crimson and deliciously sheer insets, swingy skirts, playful shorts, and adorable booties; it`s a delectably composed collection! I can picture every peice in my closet (especially those short sets)!

More Resort '10....

Chuck Taylors bring a certain image to mind: sweet, classic and versatile.
It's no wonder that Vena Cava paired some of their Resort '10 looks with simple white Chucks.
The collection is just as fresh and comfortable as the sneaks, but unique nonetheless.
I'm loving all of the prints, it's nice that they are sticking around instead of the usual "prints for spring/summer, muted tones and tweed for fall/winter"
And the model's short hair gives me even more inspiration for my *gasp* drastic haircut sometime this month...

I need lace.

Phillip Lim's Resort '10 collection (do you see a pattern forming....must be that time!) features some of the most beautiful lace tops, a look I was apprehensive to at first.
I wasn't too sure that lace could be taken out of the awful mom/90's connotations I always associated with it, but with a little coaxing, I see the error in my thinking.
This collection is ethereal in the most down to earth way I've seen in a while, and other than some hideous jodphur/mom jeans that are inexplicable, it's great as a whole.

My favourite: The "rock on" tee with the tan bomber and white mini. Flawless.

Even more...

Yeah, some more Resort '10.
Anna Sui.

Ahem, Anna totally stole the idea for the
black one shoulder dress from a certain someone...
Just sayin'.

All I wanna do is....

...make me some sweet giant bow headbands.
This is an idea I've been thinking about for a while...
but haven't quite put into action, even though I have a giant gold bow lurking in my sewing room!
The Resort 2010 collection from DVF is a perfect example of exactly the kind of ridiculousness and fun such a headband could bring.
Totally frivolous, and totally worth trying out!
