Glitterati.

Tiffany clearly knows birthday dressing.
I'm craving some major glitter action, right about now...

As The Water Fills My Mouth, It Couldn't Wash The Echoes Out.

Florence+the Machine has been a constant inspiration of mine since I first listened to her CD last year. I'd never heard a sound like hers, and the songs have a tranformative power that I'm yet to feel from other artists. Original, ethereal and armed with wicked style (not to mention the best shade of red hair!), she was just as captivating when we saw her live! I managed to get the front and dead center of the stage. Oh, did I mention she held my hand and sang to me during Kiss With A Fist? I nearly died, I was on cloud nine! Sorry if this is coming out as a mushy love letter, she just has that kind of effect. The best part of the show? She has the most effevescent personality! So bubbly and clearly loves what she does. You can't deny that she is going places, so keep a look out for her!

Thrifted lace tee, tulle skirt, socks, fascinator.
Old Navy wedges. Bluenotes military jacket.

Do The D.A.N.C.E.

This lovely woman is the editor in chief of this lovely magazine.
Fitting, non?

PS. Thanks my lovely friend Jaclyn who sent me a real, live, Australian copy of Russh during her travels in Australia and NZ <3

Two Sides of A Coin.

Very different inspirations today, vintage vs. modern.
The vintage photo has just the right amount of sensuality.
The shoes! The lipstick! Her hair! Sigh. Wish I was alive then.
As for the platforms, I feel like I would live in these JC's all summer.
I'm kind of on a gratuitous platform kick...makes walking more perilous (in a good way).

Long Overdue.

Lovely kneesocks from the AA rummage sale.
I remember lusting after these when they first came out, I scored them for 2 bucks!
But I most definitely had to rummage.
I played Monopoly in this outfit, and lost badly.
Crushed I tell you, I was crushed.

Thrifted dress, belt, boots.
American Apparel socks.
DIY turban headband.

Sitting At The Top.

For my mother's birthday celebrations, the family (and Tim, my boyfriend) all piled into the car and headed to Cloud Nine Revolving Restaurant in Vancouver.
It was a little overcast (and my batteries died when we were facing the sunset!) but the view was still lovely, and the food was delicious.
I'd recommend this spot to anyone who gets the chance to see our gorgeous city.
Oh, and say hello to my bad hair day chic-ifier...the leopard turban headband.
You'll be seeing more of it, I assure you.

H&M dress. Fletcher by Lyell coat.
Joe polka dot tights. Bamboo pleather booties.
whistle. leopard turban headband.

Wouldn't It Be Nice?

How fun is the bathing suit?!?
I think I'd be happy wearing it on a nice cool dip...or even taking a shoreside stroll.
Someone needs to make a modern version, quick!
And the saddle shoes/halter combo is so cooly non-chalant. Amazing!

California Love.

I've got serious love for Erin of CaliVintage.
She's got style in spades, and I was lucky enough to be feature in her latest outfit favourites post. If you don't already read her blog, you most certainly should check it out. She's always inspiring, without fail!

Thanks, Erin for the lovely words!

Awkward Shadows.

I need to reshoot this blouse, so you can see all its' pretty details more clearly. I can safely say it's one of my favourite thrifted finds! Polka dots, sheer scalloped collar? Perfection.

Thrifted blouse. Susan by Emma Cook headpiece.
Joe polka dot tights. Old Navy wedges.
True Value Vintage skirt (altered from a dress).

May The Force Be With You.

I may have a knack for vintage, but some modern shoes melt my heart.
I think these Raphael Young boots would bring a delightful edginess to the girliest of outfits.
