Orla Kiely Spring/Summer 2014.

My sartorial tastes seem to flip between two reference points: the nipped waists and demure seduction of 1950s debutantes and pinups and the carefree, youthful exuberance of 1960s schoolgirls and mod ladies. The latest collection from Orla Kiely (a perennial favorite label) leans towards that girlish mod thing: abbreviated hems teamed with knee socks and sweetly hued accessories.

That Time Again.

Orla Kiely is a perennial favorite label of mine. Each collection is brimming with beautiful "basics" that I wish lived in my wardrobe. Never fussy, and yet still intricate and interesting. I enjoyed perusing the SS2012 collection via Blooming Leopold, there are so many looks with sweetly feminine tailored details. And all those collars! SWOON.  I was especially excited to see that the looks were paired with wedges that are almost identical to the Ecote studded wedges I got for $10 a couple weeks back. I will definitely be pairing the black pair with black socks!

My Oh My.

Wow, wow, wow!

Orla Kiely may very well be my new obssession. I've been consistently inspired by all of thier peices I have come across on the internet, and yet I haven't posted about them until today. The brand encapsulates that early 60's, late 50's, prim and proper whimsy that I hold so dear. Girly and sweet, but never crossing the line into twee, how could you not fall in love? The Spring/Summer 2011 really really does it for me! It probably helps that Leith Clark (she of Lula editorial fame) does the styling for the brand. I adore her personal style, and I really love the styling in the presentation of the collection! I had to restrain myself from posting the entire thing! Lucious red lips, delightful wedges, messy updos paired with some of the most amazing dresses and skirts I've seen...this one plays out like dream. Especially because there are so many peter pan collars!
