All You Have To Do Is Press Play.

I recently celebrated my 24th birthday. Much like years before, the passing of another year of my life has left me feeling awfully introspective lately. Many moments spend in contemplation and consideration of my present and future plans. Surprisingly, rather than panicked I'm feeling refreshed and more focused, almost like someone hit the play button... Here's to a fresh start, and new beginnings.

You Have Been Loved, By Someone Good.

I was lucky enough to receive a Stop Staring dress a couple of weeks ago, and I knew it would be perfect for my birthday. I've always admired the saucy pinup vibe of the company's dresses, but hadn't been able to wear one yet. The silhouette and color are out of my usual comfort zone, but what better time than a new year to break out of the norm?

My birthday was honestly amazing. I saw so, so, SO many people that I love. I had dinner at home in Abbotsford with my whole family on Wednesday night (Momma made me ribs, YUM) and spent the day on Thursday hanging out with Mitzi. We ate lunch at East is East (absolutely delicious if you are ever on Main) and took in some vintage shopping! That evening, we went to Havana on Commercial for a scrumptious dinner. Afterwards we went out and danced the night away. I managed 3 wardrobe changes, but only managed to capture decent photos of one. Oh, and a bonus shot of me and the wonderful Hello Kitty cake Kate made me! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

A big thanks to my wonderful friends and family, I have definitely been loved this year!

Out of the Toy Box.

This Halloween I was a doll who escaped the toy box for one night! I was originally going to be a majorette, but ran out of time/money/creativity. I was pleased with the back up costume though...The make up was really fun to wear, especially the eyelashes and the wig. Both will resurface, I'm sure of it.

We snuck into the Waldorf on Saturday night, and had the best time! All they played was late 1950's, early 60's sock-hop type music. Kate and I literally did The Twist the whole night. It played out exactly like the dream dance party I've been fantasizing about! I think I might have found my new hang out in the city.

We carved pumpkins last week. Soooo pumpkin carving bonus round!!!
Also, what were you this Halloween?

Thrifted crinoline (it was only $4!!!), belt. Old Navy skirt.
Mariposa bustier. Claire's socks.
H&M shoes. Dressew gloves.
"Alter Ego" wig.
PS. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACE!
You are the most wonderful little sister one could ask for.

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You.

These are more shots from my birthday week.
Tim got me the best presents, two of which were a Hello Kitty Balloon (I can re-inflate it, so I'm keeping it forever) and delicious caramel apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
Hello Kitty is my all time favorite cartoon character, I nearly died of happiness when I walked into my room and saw a giant Hello Kitty!
The caramel apples were beyond amazing, I recommend them to everyone who gets a chance.
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life, I think he's a keeper!
The blouse I'm wearing is a birthday present from my best friend Kate.
The collar is amazing, I'm going to try and get better detail shots the next time I wear it!

Gifted blouse, Hello Kitty Balloon.
Thrifted skirt, belt.
Bluenotes jacket. H&M heels.

They Say It's Yer Birthday!

Oh, my 21st birthday. It was on September 8th (playing catch up still!). We went to Havana and had delicious food and yummy drinks. The mango mojitos are delicious!
That first photo is of the delightfully tacky bikini shot glasses we found (dollar store, FTW).
I may or may not have been a bit tipsy, but nothing too crazy, I promise! Hanging out with a bunch of my closest friends was really great, since I've been missing them a lot since moving about an hour away. I will be sure to show my bday presents in a future post (Mom, thank you for the electric kettle!), but for now, here's a recap of the night.

Mariposa bustier. Thrifted skirt, jacket. Buffalo Exchange tights.
Bamboo ankle booties.

Birthday, part two!

My boyfriend had to work on my actual birthday,
so last night he took me out to dinner and a movie!
We went to Mission Springs for dinner
(insane amounts of food, very strong cocktail)
and watched Pinapple Express.
It was actually pretty funny.
I enjoyed the bro-mance of Seth Rogan and James Franco.

It was one of those days....

A day where there was too much to do and not enough time to do it.
I register for my classes for the fall.
I went for a friend's b-day lunch, then another friend's birthday dinner/Sex and the City, again.
Damn I love that movie!
