Madewell.

This spring I can feel a relaxed sense of ease seeping into my style. The spring lookbook from Madewell perfectly executes the kind of style I am leaning towards when shopping my closet/stores. Pared down, effortless, perfectly cut foundation pieces that can be worn in and beat up. I never thought I'd be yearning for it, but all I seem to want these days are solid basics. Is this what adulthood feels like?

Shine On.

An editorial from Arise Magazine. Perhaps one of the most perfect executions of a modern pin-up...neither stale nor retro, the innate sensuality is beyond palpable.

In Our Fifth Year.

Veils, bows, polka dots and gloves are all things I thoroughly enjoy, and this throwback editorial from the 2010 spring/summer issue of Lula Magazine showcases all of them. Today is Style is Style's 5th birthday, and I'll be hosting a giveaway next week in celebration, including the latest issue of Lula, as well as some other awesome/cute/fun/lovely goodies. Five years really has flown by, who knew I'd still be writing on this blogall these months later? Thanks for your readership, hopefully my corner of the web has provided a little joy to you over the years.

Starlet-Laced.

Over the past few years of blogging, I've found that my personal style has definitely settled into a uniform of sorts. I'm a sucker for a great print and color, and I absolutely cannot resist a collar. Novelty socks are another major weakness of mine. I was delighted to see this editorial from the spring edition of Lula Magazine circulate around the web, since it is a combination of all of the above. Dusty yet saturated hues, a nod to Dior's New Look silhouette and the lovely pairing of milkmaid braids and beautiful netted veils. It's a spring time dream...

Girls With Glasses.

Shirley Kurata is a worthy of a post herself, but may I direct your attention to her immaculately styled shoot for Paper Magazine? I'm currently shopping for new frames, and this spread adds many pairs to my wish list. I want to be just as quirky as these lovely heroines.

Give Me Something Sweet.

Audrey Grace is one of those shops which bringing swells of joy to my heart. Brands which are perfectly curated, a delightful aesthetic, and wonderful contributors. This set popped up on my Facebook feed this AM, and I have to share with you guys. Hannah Metz models, Agnes Thor behind the lens, and some very gorgeous threads. I had to hold back and not post the entire thing, but it's worth clicking the link to see the set. Lovely dovey, just in time for Valentines Day.

Back To The Books.

It's been a long time since I've posted an editorial on here. This is one of my recent favourites, I found it thanks to tumblr! I throughly enjoy the playfulness of the whole shoot, and the prim collars, high socks and school girl dresses seem perfect for this time of year (or anytime, really).

A quick thanks to Iris+Daniel who featured me in an EIU post over at Chictopia! If you want to know "how" I shop, check it out...

It's As Simple As That.

As the weather gets warmer, I am starting to feel a little bit of a season panic. This happens every fall and summer: It starts to feel like I have absolutely nothing suitable for the upcoming change in weather. I've settled into a routine of wearable peices for whichever season I'm in, and I feel completely lost, wardrobe wise! Of course, I know that it's untrue that I have no clothes, but it usually takes a good chunk of inspiring, weather appropriate outfits to make me feel a little less anxious. Speaking of which, I love the pared down simplicity of this editorial, found on Anja's blog. You can see more by clicking through....

It's A Hothouse.

I think the fact that this editorial (June 2008/US Elle) contains lethal amounts of pink is one of the reasons it's one of my favourites, ever. I can't explain it, but I feel an intangible pull to the protagonist, who seems to suffering from wanderlust in some very lovely dresses. Sigh. This is what spring should be!

All Eyes On...

I've been feeling any kind of buttoned up, lady-like editorials lately.
Give me pussy bows and starched collars, please!
This is one of best I've seen so far, so delightfully directional.
It's from W's November issue!
