Sun Up.

I'm not one for cold weather, but when the temperatures rise I do miss wearing my collection of vintage fur collars (faux and real). They're a very simple way to feel luxurious, even if I'm just going to work or running errands.

Style is Style was featured on Rookie yesterday, my mug even made the homepage! Rookie is an excellent publication for girls and women alike, I'm glad to be a part of something so wonderful (and necessary).

Grayer Than Most.

My remedy for dreary spring days is always a dash of color. Who could feel blue in vibrant hues?

#TBT: Cupid's Arrow

I’m starting Throwback Thursdays here on Style is Style for those posts that I still want to share but may be a little...past due. I hope you enjoy it!

For my first installment: My Valentine's outfit. I’m quite aware of the essential commercialism at the
heart
of St. Valentine’s Day in North America. Despite this fact, I’m sweet on the idea of doing something special for those you hold dear, even if it’s just a bit of me time.  Last Valentine’s Day I was flying solo, and it was the best V-Day! I made myself nachos, put on my favourite movie, and parked it on the couch. It showed me that it’s not impossible to have a great Valentine all by myself.

This year was much the same, a lovely evening indeed. My sweetheart made me spaghetti and homemade meatballs (the way to my heart is through my stomach...or my closet) and I fell promptly asleep. I'm a terrible date, but I felt truly cared for. No over-the-top dates, no extravagant gifts, just a night in with someone that I enjoy spending time with. Now that's what I call a perfect V-Day!

Since I’ve been feeling particularly lovey-dovey lately, I went head over heels with a kitschy Valentine’s theme this year. It’s probably the last time I will do something so over-the-top, but it was fun to have Cupid’s Arrow stuck on my head.

They Said The World Was Black & White.

I've been enamored with black and white combinations of late, especially patterned monochrome pieces. It's a simple way to dress in striking manner, and a nice little nod to 1960's mod fashions. I mixed in a little bit of blues this time around, because I couldn't go completely colorless!

What have you been wearing lately?
