Hansel From Basel SS 2013.

For those of us who are less inclined to partake in trousers, the chilliness of fall presents a new set of challenges. How does one keep warm while avoiding the entrapment of pant legs? The solution, my friends, is hosiery, and lots of it!

When You And I Were Forever Wild.

Call it a case of summer madness, but lately I seem to be wearing a plethora of cropped tops and sunset hues. Purples, pinks and oranges are what I have been drawn to in my closet, and I cannot resist a smidgen of midriff! Perhaps it's because this summer has been consistently hotter than most that I have invested in a few shorter tops. A slice of bare stomach feels just a touch playful, like the 1940s pinups that typically inspire my summer clothing.

You can still enter the Kensie giveaway until Saturday, August 17th!

I'll Be Seeing You.

In exciting news, MitziCocoa moved a mere 6 blocks away from me! I'm ecstatic to have her so much closer to me, instead of relying on sporadic weekends when we could hang out together. These photos are from her last visit to Vancouver before she moved back.

I figured having one of my favourite gals around was the perfect excuse to break out my Swedish Hasbeens. Hasbeens have been on my sartorial wishlist for a few years now, so when someone consigned a pair at work, I quite swiftly snapped them up!

Get A Chance To Take A Break.

It's been a very busy summer; life in general seems to be trying to pull me in equally compelling directions. I've never been a master of balance, but I've find I'm getting a little better at figure out when to check out, even if it's just for a few hours. I hung out with Emily R. on a lazy evening after work, and it was lovely just to chill out and eat some delicious food at The Whip on Main. A tasty meal with a pal was precisely was I needed!
Speaking of needs, I typically don't feel the need to wear jewellery. I'm always intimidated by how much or how little to wear at once. But given the challenge of styling this Kensie necklace, I must say some of my apprehensions have subsided. Bright, bold and vintage leaning in it's Art Deco motif, I have been topping many a dress and blouse with this piece.
You can enter to win an item from Kensie as well. All you have to do is follow Kensie on twitter, like their Facebook page and leave a comment with your name and email on this post. The contest will run until Saturday, August 17th. Good Luck!
