One Fine Day.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending a Saturday off eating yummy baked goods, hanging out with Leonie and some ladies for her pre-birthday celebration. Her puppy Peanut is beyond adorable. Chocolate covered waffles are the best/worst idea.

TopShop crash landed in Vancouver last week, opening their largest international location in the heart of downtown. Needless to say, the store itself is immaculate, and a tad bit overwhelming. So. Many. Shoes. So. Many. Frilly. Socks.

Lucky for me, the store opening meant a super sweet party at 560. I headed downtown last Wednesday night with the wonderful Michelle and my pal Karen (of Broken Promises) after a pre-party stop at The Whip. I'm not sure I've ever had so much fun at a fashion event; we giggled and danced the night away. My girl Kasha was spinning the most irresistible of tunes, so it was inevitable that we would end up on the dancefloor. Oh, and Metric played the party. Not shabby for a Wednesday night...

Cameo Lover.

One of the downsides of making web friends who become real life pals is that distance can make it a rarity to cross paths. Mitzi and I have been pretty tight ever since we met in New York over 2 years ago, but our geographic locations (as well as day to day responsibilities) make it hard to see each other. I was stoked on  to spend the afternoon with her on a balmy day when she popped into Vancouver. I miss you, Mitzi!

Some fun featured press: a mention on the Shecky's website, where I was featured with some very fine & fabulous fellow bloggers.

I also had a print feature in the special edition of Glamour Magazine: 1000 Ways To Dress 10 Pounds Thinner. The issue of Glamour is on newstands until November, and I didn't actually know I was in it! I was killing time in the airport on my Norway trip and nearly fell over when I saw myself...pretty hilarious.

A fun day in my hometown with my younger (and taller) sister. We shot these outside one of my favourite thrift stores, and a lady who worked there happened to come out mid-shoot. The last photo is one that she requested be taken with her because I looked "so cute". It was quite amusing...

Never Ending Summer.

My hard drive is full of photos from the past couple of months; as I've been getting settled into a full time job and a new house, the blog has been harshly neglected. Real life has a funny way of getting in the way of the Internet... I hope you are all doing well!

Broken Promises.

Karen La is a Vancouver jewelery designer whose creative vision is very much an extension of herself. With an almost indescribable eclecticism, the straight forward nature of her designs channels her varied points of influence into a precise beauty. Karen handcrafts each piece out of silver and brass, making each one an heirloom of it's own. I, for one, am quite smitten with her Broken Promises Fall/Winter 2012 collection, and the visually staggering collection video.
